Job Description: Successful growing company is seeking a General Counsel to provide advice and oversee all legal and compliance matters. The General Counsel will report directly to the President and CEO of the company. The preferred location is Wilmington, DE but they will consider San Diego as well.
Duties will include keeping updated and advising the company of mortgage compliance issues including state appraisal management company statutes and emerging privacy legislation relevant to the data industry, overseeing licensing matters, handling mergers and acquisitions, providing regulatory and IP support for new product development, managing contract team members, managing mortgage litigation matters, managing outside counsel, risk management.
The right candidate will possess at least 8 years of combined law firm and in-house legal experience, including data licensing experience, title insurance experience including RESPA and HUD requirements, appraisal expertise including experience with state regulatory requirements, Dodd-Frank/TILA and Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and banking and privacy regulatory experience and Floor(NFIP) and FCRA experience.
